O arrais do mar offers a nocturnal radiography of a territory where several simultaneous actions weave a complex relationship between the sea and the coast. The film follows the night journey of the last fishing community practicing Arte de Xávega, a traditional Portuguese technique now close to extinction that has hardly evolved over the centuries. Meanwhile, beneath the immense cliff just meters from the ocean, other bodies wander the terrain in search of casual sexual encounters. The work portrays a space without a center and with little surveillance, where displaced actions find their place.
